Midtown Dental Clinic offers caring dental services to residents of the Pine Belt area of Mississippi. We pride ourselves on providing you with convenient, quality dental care. Our clinic was founded in 1993, and it's locally owned and operated.

We're an accredited CHIP provider and a STAR military dental clinic. We welcome all military service members and their families!

Julie Covington McMahan, DMD

Dr. McMahan is a native of Meridian, MS, where she graduated from Lamar School. She graduated from Ole Miss and dental school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Dr. McMahan is married to Harlan McMahan, a Hattiesburg native. Together they have 2 children, a daughter and a son. Dr. McMahan donates her free time to the Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg and attends First Presbyterian Church. She loves playing tennis, working in the yard, and is passionate about animals. Dr. McMahan has practiced dentistry at Midtown since opening in the spring 2019.

Dr. Peyton Dorsey Burks, DMD

Dr. Burks is a Hattiesburg native and a graduate of Presbyterian Christian High School. She attended Mississippi State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Spanish. Dr. Burks received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental Association, and the Mississippi Association of Women Dentists.

She is married to Dr. Andrew Burks, an Ophthalmology resident at UMMC. They have one son, Conner, along with two Cavapoos, Jax and Cooper.

Anna E. Birch, DMD

Dr. Birch is originally from Russellville, Kentucky, and graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. She is married to Oliver Birch, who is from York, England. Together they have three dogs and love to travel.

Dr. Birch practiced dentistry in Meridian prior to moving to Hattiesburg and joining Midtown in 2021. Her favorite part about Hattiesburg is all that the downtown and arts community has to offer. She and her husband love being involved in the downtown community.
